Risk Analysis and Delay Mitigation
Comprehensive project planning involves analyzing the project plan, identifying associated risks, and devising strategies to minimize those risks. With over 30 years of experience in constructing and building large-scale projects, our team at Sunrise Consulting and Scheduling possesses expertise in both construction management and scheduling. Allow us to use our extensive experience to assist you in analyzing and reducing the risks for your construction project.
Risk Analysis
Sunrise’s team of experts provides sophisticated risk analysis of project schedules to determine a project’s overall risk profile. Our team utilizes industry-leading software and stochastic analytics to run millions of potential scenarios. This allows us to incorporate potential risks into our analysis and deliver a “likely date range” for project completion. With this information in hand, our clients are able to report a realistic completion date to project stakeholders and end-users, improving communication up and down the project stream. This process also enables Sunrise to identify which specific elements of the project are most at risk of delay. Where elevated risk exposure occurs, Sunrise works with our clients to develop a clear mitigation strategy.
Risk Mitigation
Sunrise professionals have diversified technical expertise and hands-on construction management experience. This not only enables our team to identify project issues as they arise but also to identify solutions as serious impediments appear. With knowledge gained from real-world construction experience, our team utilizes state-of-the-art CPM scheduling practices to perform resequencing of schedule as needed. Sunrise can also provide detailed recommendations related to procurement, construction, and closeout that will allow fast-tracking, crashing, or other forms of schedule acceleration to reduce the risk of delay to the overall project schedule.
Delay Analysis
Sunrise Consulting and Scheduling employs Time Impact Analysis (TIA) and delay analysis techniques to assess potential schedule impacts in construction projects. TIA is used to determine a potential schedule impact in situations such as encountering differing site conditions or adding extra work to a project. Our team identifies all necessary activities, estimates the time required to complete each activity, and creates a Fragnet that is inserted into the current project schedule.
In addition to TIA, Sunrise uses delay analysis techniques to assess the impact of any unforeseen events that may affect the project schedule. By analyzing the project’s critical path and identifying any delays, our team can determine the extent to which the project completion date may be affected. This information can then be used to negotiate a revised completion date with the owner or contractor.
With our vast experience in managing construction projects, we are uniquely qualified to utilize TIA and delay analysis techniques to minimize potential schedule impacts and ensure timely project completion.
Delay Mitigation
Sunrise Consulting and Scheduling works collaboratively with project teams to provide and evaluate delay mitigation tactics. We take a proactive approach to risk mitigation by carefully planning and assessing potential delays. Our team reviews and assesses schedule compression, fast tracking, and recovery planning as necessary. We ensure that project resources are optimally allocated and identify potential risks. Our risk mitigation plan includes monitoring long lead items and reporting on them regularly. In the event of a delay, our team evaluates the potential impact and works with the project team to develop a recovery plan, which may involve fast tracking, resequencing tasks, adjusting the project plan, or compressing the schedule.
